On a rocking chair in the front porch of my house
With a cold beer in my hand and a 6-pack by my side
I watch the sunset over the distant desert
In the middle of nowhere
No cars honking
No phones ringing
Just a band playing my favorite tunes
On a normal day
I walk over to the pool and up to a diving board 6ft high
With a cold beer in my hand and a 6-pack on the porch
I dive into the reflections of milky white clouds
A style I call “Drink and Dive”
No crowd cheering
No judges scoring
Just a band playing my favorite tunes
On a normal day
When I am done swimming the clouds of change
I get out to get dry and get dressed
To saddle up my noble steed and go riding
Still feeling high from all the drinking
At the snow-tipped mountains where eagles fly high
I get down to gear up and go hiking
On a trail that leads to a place called paradise
To lean against the oak tree and drift into sleep
Those noisy bells are ringing
Again and again and again
And I slowly wake up
To the fading sounds of my favorite tunes
No more sleeping
No more dreaming
Just enough time to get going
No beer drinking
No pool diving
No horse riding
No mountain hiking
No nothing
Just the radio playing some random tune
As I drive to work on a normal day

On A Normal Day
This is my first attempt at songwriting. In our busy work lives, we all long for a normal day when we don't have to feel the stress of responsibilities, meeting expectations, running errands and all the routine activities that has become the way of life. In this song, I try to paint a perfect picture of my normal day.
